Jenna's Spring Piano Recital - April 25, 2015

Jenna had her annual piano recital this past Saturday.  She did awesome!  Her piece was "The Sorcerer" by Carol Matz.  She was able to memorize her piece again.  I'm very proud of the progress she's made in the last year.  Jenna is very talented musically.  She has natural rhythm and learns things quickly when she puts her mind to it.  Of course, practicing isn't fun, but she's discovering how much easier it gets the more you do it!  I hope she always loves music.  Check out the video link at the bottom!

Tigers vs Angels, August 29, 1986

Hi baseball fans!  Remember the story I told of being at an Angels game in 1986 and they scored 9 runs in the bottom of the 9th and won it on a two-strike, two-out, walk-off grand-slam?  Well, it's true, and now I can prove it.  And I got a game ball for extra measure.

In particular, pause the video at 38 seconds and tell me who you see in the stands behind the batter?

Oh, and the Mets are bums.

Lamar W. Skeen

Uncle Lamar passed away on May 14, 2014.  We attended his funeral on Thursday, May 22 in Warren.  Here are some pictures and videos from the day.  We will sure miss Lamar's witty personality, stories, unique sense of humor, and infectious laugh!  Wish I had a video of that!  I have many childhood memories of the farm & going out to see the cows.  I wish that Erin & Hilary could have been there, too.  You were missed!  Click HERE to read his obituary.

It was a beautiful, warm day (even among the mosquitoes ;))

PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH THESE VIDEOS!...I realize that they are not right-side up; wait about 7 seconds & it will be. (Cut me some slack here, learning this blogging world AND a new cell phone! It's amazing I was able to edit the videos to get them right-side up! ;))

Jenna's piano recital

Today Jenna performed in her first piano recital at the Pleasant Valley Library in South Ogden.  (Technically it's her second recital, but only fellow students were allowed to come to the first one.)  This was the first one in front of family/friends.  She played "Jazzy".  Jenna memorized her piece and played it beautifully.  She didn't appear nervous at all but secretly told me she was a little bit. ;)  We're so very proud of her for being brave & for developing her new talent!  She has only been playing since September. :)  Great job Jenna!

Graduation, Canada, and Houston

Okay, guys.  Brace yourselves.  This might be a lengthy post.  So I'm apologizing now.  A lot has happened in the last few months and I feel like all the pictures I took are going to waste.  So just bare with me here.

First off, I graduated from colleege.  Wait.. what?  That doesn't sound right.

I couldn't have asked for a better college experience.  Love USU with all my heart.

(first one to point out whats wrong with this picture gets 10 points)

Second, Clark, JB, and I took a little rendezvous up to Canada.  We had a great trip full of great company, great sites and great music.. until Julie and I realized we forgot our passports.. oops.  Other than that little mishap (sorry dad) I loved it!

Sorry for the novel of pictures but there were just too many I wanted to share with y'all.  Thirdly, after Canada I came on out here to Texas and have been kickin it with the Burton clan.  Houston has been great but I'll admit I can't wait for some dry Utah weather!  And fall.  And, of course, it has been a blast
getting to spend time with Erin, Matt, and the kids.  And Gunth.  I'm seriously going to have a hard time not waking up to their sweet faces every morning and watching a film or playing a game of scrabble with Erin and Matt at night. (sniff)  Here are some gems from the visit.

And sorry this post sounds like an essay.  (post fchd grad probs)

More of Junie's tricks.  Love this sweet baby.  (ignore our voices and just watch the kid)

Indiana sure loves to dance.

And Gunther.

The mosquitoes in Houston are no joke.  And for some reason they live for Foxy's blood.  Poor kid.

Classic Clark nap. (sorry dad, I couldn't resist)

Crawled into the hamper to take a little nap and managed to get himself stuck.  He would.  I love this dog.
